Community Meal
We love the sense of community that comes with staying after service for a shared meal! Be together on May 3 for a continental breakfast: think yogurt & granola, fruit, pastries, etc.
These community meals are always a group effort: we need folks to bring food, help set up before service, serve during the meal, and help tear down at the end. Look for signup sheets at church this Sunday or sign up online below:
Women at The Table
Women at The Table gatherings (second Wednesdays of the month) create sacred space where joy is multiplied and community is built. These are low-stakes opportunities to get to know others in a smaller group setting. All are welcome—bring a friend!
There are two types of gatherings for women:
Women at The Table (WATT) is a gathering in a local home and includes snacks and drinks, a short devotion, personal stories, and small group conversation.
Women’s Night Out (WNO) is a more social gathering like a brewery or restaurant, craft night, etc. where the point is fun and connection!
In May, we’ll gather in a local home. Please RSVP below so we can send you the exact address:
Our next Women’s Night Out is in June—details forthcoming! RSVP below for the address and we’ll send it your way!
2026 Women at The Table dates:
May 13: Women at The Table
June 10: Women’s Night Out
July 8: Women at The Table
August 12: Women’s Night Out
September 9: Women at The Table

Gather with other queer/trans folks for food and conversation in community.
Congregational Meeting
On Sunday, May 17, we’ll host a brief congregational meeting after the worship service to introduce new board members, give a financial update, and vote to approve the budget. Everyone is invited to stay for the meeting to hear about the life of this church (childcare is provided)! Members will be asked to vote.
Not a member yet? Attend a New at The Table gathering (the next one is July 19) and then be welcomed in service on Sunday, July 26!
The Table at The Bandshell
Grab your people and your people’s people and join us for worship in the most picturesque spot in Minneapolis: the Lake Harriet Bandshell. We’ll bring chalk for the kids—bring a picnic (or support Bread & Pickle) and stick around afterwards to enjoy lunch together!
New at The Table
If you’re new or newer to The Table, this gathering is for you! You’ll meet staff, board members, and other community members, hear the story of The Table, learn about ways to get connected. You’ll be able to ask questions and even have a chance to opt-in to membership!*
We’ll meet after church at 11:15am in the lower level of the Center of Belonging. Childcare is available, but please fill out the form below so we can plan for your child(ren):
*If you do decide you’re ready to become a member, there will be a New Member Welcome in service on Sunday, March 22. More details here.

Prayer Team Training
The Prayer Team provides spiritual support to our community through direct prayer on Sundays during community and intercessory prayer throughout the week. This training is for anyone who is interested in being part of this team in any capacity.
If you weren’t able to attend the interest meeting in February, please complete the form below so we know what kind of prayer you’re comfortable offering our community:
The training will be held at Debbie’s house. If you need the address, please RSVP below and we’d be glad to send it to you!
Middle School Youth Group
This year, our middle schoolers follow a rhythm of gathering on Wednesdays about twice a month—focused on Bible Study, service, learning, and connection.
Bible study nights begin with sharing about our weeks and playing a game. Then we’ll dig into our church’s benediction (“No matter who you are or what you’ve done, etc.”) line by line, pairing it with scripture stories and exploring how they connect with students’ lives.
On alternate nights, we’ll switch it up with service projects, game nights, and what we’re calling Experiential Spirituality. Community members share how they live out their faith through things like meditation, exercise, advocacy, art, nature walks, baking, music...who knows what we’ll discover together!
With any questions, please contact our Pastor of Youth, Marta Smith.
Spring gathering dates:*
April 29: Bible Study
May 6: Service Project
May 20: Bible Study
June 3: Year-End Party
*Middle School events are at The Table (3501 Aldrich) from 6:30–8pm unless otherwise noted. Dinner is not provided, but feel free to bring something along!
Men at The Table
All guys are welcome to hang out over drinks and food at a local home!
Spring Cleaning Day
Join Table staff and other tenants of the Center of Belonging building for a day of spring cleaning! As partners who share the building, we’re rolling up our sleeves to spruce up the place a little bit! Lunch is provided; all are welcome.
Sunday Morning Worship
Our Sunday morning worship gatherings follow a rhythm: singing worship songs, hearing from our pastors, sharing communion, and ending with our community benediction. We’d love to have you join us!
Kids begin the service in their groups (read more about check-in and Table Kids programming here) and return for communion. Communion is served at the front of the church after the sermon. As you’re ready, we invite you to come forward down the left aisle, take a piece of gluten-free bread, dip it into the cup of grape juice, and eat it as you return to your seat.
After the service, we invite you to get a cup of coffee (from Bichota!) and hang out. If it’s your first visit, stop by the Welcome Table in the back of the Sanctuary—we’d love to meet you, share more information, and answer any questions you might have.
If you’re not able to join us in person, we post the sermon to our Recent Messages page the following Monday, or you can listen via your favorite podcast provider.

Board Nominations
We are now accepting nominations for our advisory board, the 14 individuals who are responsible for our strategic direction and business affairs. Each spring, we fill open board seats through the process of nomination—this year there are three spots opening up. We invite you to nominate someone (perhaps yourself!) who has the capacity, competency, character, and commitment to help The Table step into its next chapter.
Please read all the information before completing the form on our Board Nomination page:
I have more questions; who do I ask?
Our goal is for full transparency in the nomination process; we never want it to feel mysterious or secretive. We want our board members to be a known presence in our community. Questions about this process can be directed to current president Mark Harmon.
Maundy Thursday Experience
This Maundy Thursday, we invite you to gather with family, friends, or a small group and remember Jesus’ command to love one another. If there are kids in your group, download the response craft below (it’s a make and take—bring your craft to church on Good Friday or Easter Sunday!).
Download the guide below. When you gather together, begin with a meal and end with Communion. Then watch the video introduction below before practicing hand or foot washing.
Palm Sunday Faith Action
Join thousands of Christians on Palm Sunday to celebrate the call of our faith to love our neighbors: healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and welcoming the stranger.
We’ll join other faith communities and meet at 2pm at St. James AME in St. Paul (near University and Dale) and march to the Capitol building with our palm branches. At 2:30pm, the Black Church Power Project leads a worship service at the Capitol Mall as we proclaim a faith that centers love for our neighbors and rejects politics rooted in greed and cruelty.
You’re welcome to meet us directly at the Capitol building at 2:30pm. We’ve been asked to remind you that this is a worshipful gathering; please leave those protest signs at home! If you’re planning to march with us, please RSVP below so we can send you more details:
Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday reminds us of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This is a Kids in Worship Sunday, and our kids will do a palm parade through the Sanctuary when they return to the Sanctuary for Communion.
Here’s what families need to know:
All are welcome: kids of all ages, their parents and siblings, toddlers from nursery, etc.
Begin as usual: head upstairs to check in your child and bring them to their classroom.
Caitlin and team will bring kids downstairs after the sermon, where they will receive their palm branches and parade through the Sanctuary before joining their families for Communion.
Canceled: Sunday Morning Worship
Worship service on Sunday, March 15 is canceled due to weather. Stay home, stay safe! See you on the 22nd.
CANCELLED: Ash Wednesday Worship
Due to weather concerns and unsafe driving conditions, our Ash Wednesday service is cancelled.
Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent, the Church season of the 40 days leading up to Easter. This evening service includes music, a meditation by Justin, plus communion and the imposition of ashes. We mark ourselves with ashes as a reminder that we will one day return to dust. All are welcome; childcare is not offered for this service.
Volunteer Safety Training
After service on Sunday, January 25, we’ll host a brief safety training for all volunteers. We’ll do a walkthrough of the building together, and discuss emergency procedures and exit strategies.
It’s important for the continued safety of our community for all volunteers to be present: folks who work with Table Kids, greeters, communion servers, those who set up coffee.
Moms Demand Action at The Table
You are invited to get involved in the gun violence prevention movement! Come hear from the local group lead for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Leah Kondes. Leah gives education and tools for productive conversations about gun violence prevention in Minnesota.
Learn how to tie your faith to the movement, better inform your stances with facts, and get up to date on Minnesota’s current and proposed gun laws.
This event is for everyone, not just moms! Invite a friend and please RSVP below—it helps us plan!
Household Goods for Park Place Families
We shared in church on January 11 that our support of the Park Place families will continue. They are currently organized to deliver groceries to the families, but they need support with the following household supplies:
toothpaste
paper towels
toilet paper
shampoo/conditioner
body wash/bar soap
dish soap
bleach wipes
baby wipes
diapers (sizes 1-5)
To donate, please bring items to church on Sundays.
Alternately, you can donate directly to The Park Place’s Relief Fund for their families:
CHURCH CANCELLED
With severe weather forecasted for tomorrow morning, we're canceling worship for everyone's safety. Stay warm, and we look forward to seeing you January 4!
Christmas Eve Worship
Be together on Christmas Eve for familiar carols and readings, music by our kids, a meditation from Justin, and ending with our traditional candlelit singing of Silent Night. There will not be nursery or Table Kids groups, so bring the whole family!
Each year, we send our Christmas Offering outside our walls, and this year’s offering recipient is The Park Place, a partner organization supporting Latine families in South Minneapolis. Everything received on Christmas Eve goes to The Park Place. You can give at the donation box in the back of the Sanctuary or online now:
ISAIAH Partnership Launch
ISAIAH is an interfaith organizing group comprised of faith communities, Black barbershops, childcare centers, college campuses, neighborhoods, and more. They advocate for changes at the policy level to make Minnesota a place everyone can thrive. This is the first event in our partnership with ISAIAH.
On December 13, thousands of faith leaders from across the state will come together to launch ISAIAH’S agenda through 2027 and plan a path in this moment to protect our state, neighbors, and families in the face of rising authoritarianism. Together we are going to make Minnesota a place where families across race, place, and religion can thrive.
Registration will open at 11:00 am. We are expecting several thousand people, so please plan accordingly. Registration will close at 12:45 pm.
Lunch or dinner won't be provided; the Convention Center will have coffee, snacks, and food available for purchase prior to the event starting. Concessions will also open at 11 am and will close at 12:45 pm.
The Convention Program will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 6 pm.
The event is free and you are encouraged to attend. Table staff and board members will also be there. Please register directly with ISAIAH below:
When you register, choose “The Table, Minneapolis” from the dropdown menu of Groups, and click “Minneapolis Congregations” for the Base you’re part of.
Trans Solidarity Interfaith Service
We’ve been invited by Oby Ballinger of PRISM Organizing to join other local congregations for the Trans Solidarity Service, a multifaith gathering affirming the sacredness of trans and nonbinary lives. People of faith and allies from across Minnesota will come together to proclaim a message of love, courage, and belonging. This service will include music, poetry, and reflections from trans and BIPOC faith leaders, clergy, and community members across traditions. Together, we’ll teach, organize, and be visible in our commitment to trans dignity and inclusion!
The service is free and open to all, with a livestream option for those joining from outside the Twin Cities (see below). Masks will be required (barring a medical need) for this event and will be available on site.
Evening Advent Celebration
Get in the Advent spirit together! This one-hour Sunday evening gathering is casual and fun. We’ll sing Christmas carols and enjoy some cocoa and cookies. There will be games, crafts, and activities afterwards, plus a new take-home Advent tradition. All ages are invited; no childcare.
If you’re able, we invite you contribute a dozen Christmas cookies to the evening. Got a special family recipe? Share it with The Table community! Signups will be available Sunday in the coffee area/gathering space.
Farewell to Christian Ankrum
After 16 years with The Table, our beloved Christian Ankrum is moving on to a new season. Christian has played quite a few integral roles over the years: bass player, worship leader, videographer, graphic designer and creative director, not to mention the star of the Table men's basketball team!
On Sunday, November 9, we'll celebrate Christian and the entire Ankrum family in service. We’ll have opportunities to express our gratitude and bless him as we send him into what’s next. Please be with us—all are welcome!
All Saints' Day
All Saints’ Day is a time to remember the people we have loved and lost. At The Table, we dedicate time in our service to remember the names and photos of those who have passed away in the past year.
If you would like us to remember your loved one this All Saints’, please email Patti by October 29 with the following information:
Your name
Their name and relationship to you
Their photo
Pride Trunk-or-Treat
We want Table families to know about Twin Cities Pride’s Trunk-or-Treat, a fun and safe way for families to enjoy Halloween together, featuring creatively decorated cars, delicious treats, and plenty of community spirit. After worship, head down to Loring Park in costume!
Kids' Halloween Costume Parade
Every year on the Sunday before Halloween, we invite Table Kids (of all ages!) to wear their costumes to church. At the very end of the service, Caitlin and Marta will lead the kids through the Sanctuary in a little costume parade before the benediction. There will also be some candy available for kids after service. We hope you join us for this fun tradition . . . rumor has it Justin might even preach in costume that day!
