Jae Bates Staff Transition

Jae Bates, our Pastor of Formation for Youth and Young Adults, has been on the Table team for nearly three years. Following a season of traumatic family events and being laid off from his full-time nonprofit work, Jae has discerned the need to resign from his position at The Table in order to allow for a season of rest and healing before he begins a PhD program this fall. Jae came to this decision under the advice of his community of family and friends, his medical and mental health care team, and his spiritual director.

Jae and his husband Isaiah have expressed their gratitude for the ways The Table supported them through these difficult months and they will always consider this community their home. Even as Jae takes a break from church activities this summer, he welcomes folks in the community to reach out and connect with him!

Jae has brought so much to our entire community, and he will be deeply missed. Be with us on Sunday, June 22, Jae's last day on staff, to celebrate Jae and all God has done through him. We’ll have an opportunity to write prayers of blessing for Jae as he embarks on this season of rest.
